Facing History
For one Facing History assignment, each advisory was told to create a unique project, showcasing to the rest of the school the importance of recycling. My advisory chose to create a blog on Tumblr. This blog would not only show our school how recycling could help the world, but it would also reach people outside the school. We found pictures and silly comics that would get the importance of recycling across to someone who didn't know much about recycling. We worked hard to win, and our efforts paid off. We will get an ice cream party!
This particular Facing History assignment was meaningful to me because it was a simple way to make a big impact. People always try to do big things and expect everything to turn out fine, but this project was given to small groups and each of them completed a part in educating the school. Recycling itself is an important thing to educate about because after the big recycling commercial boom a, recycling had become low on society's priority list. I learned that there are ways to promote recycling that are clever! I used the idea to make a Tumbr on another project I did in US History.
